Chiropractic

Alignment your body can keep.

Chiropractic care focused on restoring alignment, easing discomfort, and helping your body move at its best — every adjustment guided by X-ray and physical examination findings.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care assesses and treats problems with the spine and joints using manual adjustment, alongside soft-tissue work and exercise. At Postura every adjustment is guided by X-ray and physical examination findings rather than by symptoms alone.

Who it’s for

Desk workers, athletes and anyone with posture-related pain, stiffness or restricted movement.

How it works

X-ray-guided adjustments correct misalignments and restore spinal function, paired with muscle manipulation and exercise prescription so results hold.

What it treats

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis symptoms
  • Headaches
  • Frozen shoulder

What a session involves

A first visit runs about 45 minutes. It begins with your history and what you are actually finding hard to do, then a physical examination of movement and posture, then imaging where it is clinically indicated. Findings are explained to you before any treatment. Adjustment itself takes a few minutes; most people are asked to return for a short course rather than a single session.

When to see a doctor instead

See a doctor rather than booking a session if pain follows a significant fall or accident, if you have numbness or weakness in an arm or leg, if you lose control of your bladder or bowels, or if pain comes with fever, unexplained weight loss or night pain that wakes you. These are signs that need medical assessment first.

Questions patients ask.

For most people manual therapy of the spine is well tolerated, and mild soreness for a day or two afterwards is the most common effect. It is not appropriate for everyone — which is why the assessment and imaging come first, and why some findings mean we refer you rather than treat you.

It depends on what the examination finds and how long the problem has been there. A recent, localised problem often needs a short course; something that has built up over years usually takes longer. You should be given an expected range after the first visit rather than an open-ended plan.

Not always. Imaging is used where it changes what we would do — to see alignment, rule things out, or check a structural condition such as scoliosis. If it would not change the plan, it is not taken.

They overlap more than most people expect. Chiropractic tends to lead with joint and spinal mechanics; physiotherapy tends to lead with movement, loading and rehabilitation. At Postura they are the same programme rather than a choice, and the assessment decides the balance.

Most people describe pressure rather than pain, and the popping sound is gas moving in the joint, not bone. Mild soreness for a day afterwards is common, particularly after the first session. Sharp pain during treatment is not expected — say so and the technique will be changed.

Usually yes, with the technique adapted and specific positioning used. Tell the clinic you are pregnant when you book so the assessment accounts for it. If you have any pregnancy complication, check with your obstetrician or midwife first.

No. You should be given an expected number of sessions after the assessment and a point at which progress is reviewed. Some people choose occasional maintenance visits afterwards; that is a preference, not a requirement, and it should be presented that way.
