Lower back, upper back or stiffness that keeps returning — start with a clearer understanding of what you’re experiencing. Discuss an individual care plan combining chiropractic and physiotherapy where appropriate.

Types of back pain
Where it hurts is a useful starting point. Your symptoms, daily activities and health history help build the fuller picture.
Upper back painMiddle back painLower back painAround the shoulder blades
Discomfort around the upper back or shoulders can feel aching, tight or tender. Tell your practitioner which movements or activities bring it on.
Through the middle of the back
Pain or stiffness around the middle of the spine can affect turning or reaching. The location and your health history both matter when assessing it.
Around the waist and pelvis
Symptoms may stay in the lower back or extend into the buttock or leg. Mention any tingling, numbness or weakness during your assessment.
Recent or persistent? Tell us when it started and whether it comes and goes. Pain lasting more than three months is often described as persistent or chronic; duration alone does not identify its cause.
Discuss my symptoms →Understanding your back

Discuss time spent sitting, lifting, training or doing repetitive tasks, and whether symptoms change with movement.
An assessment can explore movement, tenderness and strength alongside your symptom history.
Some disc problems can irritate a nerve. Back or leg pain alone cannot confirm this; an examination helps guide the next step.
Your practitioner can discuss suitable exercises and ways to return to activities at a manageable pace.
Existing diagnoses, previous injuries and changes in your general health can influence the assessment and whether referral is needed.
Spine disc health
These simplified illustrations explain common terms. They are not a sequence everyone progresses through, and a disc finding does not necessarily mean it is causing pain.
Discs sit between the vertebrae and help the spine move and absorb load.
Discs may lose water and change in appearance over time.
The outer contour of a disc can extend beyond its usual boundary.
Inner disc material can protrude through the outer layer and may irritate a nearby nerve.
A disc may appear narrower. Imaging findings need to be considered alongside symptoms.
Bone spurs can occur with age-related changes. Their significance depends on the individual.
Assessment before assumptions. Scans are not routinely needed for everyone with back pain. Your practitioner can explain whether imaging or referral would help guide your care.

It was my first time visiting a chiropractor, and I had a great experience with Dr. Brandon. He was very friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable throughout the session. He helped address my hunch posture and lower back pain, and I could already feel some improvement afterwards. Overall, it was a very positive first experience, and I would definitely recommend Dr. Brandon to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring chiropractor.
Front desk was very friendly. Dr CK was very professional and what I appreciated most was that he took the time to understand my concerns rather than immediately jumping into treatment. He explained what he was doing and why, which made the sessions feel much more personalised and reassuring. Just like with any treatment, I think the experience and results can vary from person to person, but personally, I’m very happy with the care I received.
Dr. Isabella is very patient and professional. She helped me with my back problems and thoroughly explained how I can mitigate them in my daily life. Highly recommend visiting her, very trustworthy service!
I’ve had a wonderful experience at Postura Chiro Clinic, especially under the care of Dr. Ricky Nurdin. I’ve struggled with spine issues for some time, and Dr. Ricky has been incredibly helpful in improving my condition. He is very knowledgeable, patient, and takes the time to explain what’s happening with my spine and how the treatment helps. His adjustments are always careful, precise, and tailored to what my body needs. After several sessions, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my mobility and overall comfort. The clinic itself is also very professional, clean, and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasant experience. I’m truly grateful for the care I’ve received and would highly recommend Postura Chiro Clinic and Dr. Ricky to anyone looking for a skilled and attentive chiropractor.
Daughter got her mild scoliosis treated here for the first time by Dr. Isabella and it improved her aches and pain a lot. Thank you to the team for such a wonderful experience!
I previously shared my chiropractic journey on social media and wanted to leave a proper review here as well. I went to Postura Chiro Clinic due to a swollen right ankle, and Dr. Ricky was very professional and attentive throughout my treatment. He used shockwave therapy on the affected area and also performed dry needling, explaining each step clearly and making sure I was comfortable the entire time. I genuinely felt well taken care of, and the swelling and discomfort improved with treatment. The clinic environment is clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and supportive. I would highly recommend Dr. Ricky to anyone looking for proper, attentive chiropractic care.
Awesome experience at Postura with such a friendly, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Dr. Brandon Chiew was highly professional, knowledgeable and attentive throughout the session. He also shared very useful advice on how to better take care of my body and posture in daily life. Truly appreciate the excellent service and care provided. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality chiropractic treatment!
Excellent experience. The chiropractor CK & Ricky were professional, attentive, and explained everything clearly before treatment. My parent & son felt much better after the session, and the clinic was clean and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Really homely, makes u feel at ease. Doctors are warm n welcoming, in good hands fr
I’ve had a right shoulder issue since I was about 14 years old, and it has affected my mobility for many years. In addition , I've got 2 unresolved fractures on my back which started causing strain in my lower back due to the imbalance. I’ve tried different treatments before but never experienced real or lasting improvement. Seeing Dr. Ricky at Postura Chiro Clinic has truly made a difference. He took the time to carefully assess my posture and shoulder condition and clearly explained what was going on. His needling technique is outstanding — extremely precise and clearly done by someone with deep expertise. After the treatment, I immediately noticed a big improvement in my shoulder mobility, and even my lower back felt more relaxed. I can now move much more freely and return to my gym workouts with far less restriction and discomfort. It honestly feels like a long-standing issue has finally been properly addressed. The clinic is clean, professional, and very well run. The team is friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Ricky and Postura Chiro Clinic to anyone dealing with chronic shoulder or back problems. If you’re looking for someone with excellent needling skills and real expertise, Dr. Ricky is the person to see.
